The Wells & Wade Jumbo Polymer Picking Bucket replaced the old galvanized steel picking bucket in 1996. The steel bucket had been the preferred bucket for nearly three-quarters of a century, but it was time for some improvements. The most major improvement is that the polymer bucket weighs about one pound less than the steel bucket. The new rope hooks are much gentler on the rope and are easier to use. The “Universal Fit” belted Cordura bottoms are water, mold, mildew and abrasion resistant. The polymer bucket maintained the tapered design that allows for the fruit to release easily. Buckets are available with either the regular Cordura bag bottom (#7P104) or with a rigid/padded Cordura bottom, which has a stiff insert sewn into the Cordura and is hard on the outside and padded on the side in contact with the fruit (#7P105).
